Distinguished Alumni Won Three Awards in the Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Short Film Competition

Four alumni won three prizes in the “Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Short Film Competition”. Three of them are fresh graduates of our Journalism and Communication undergraduate programme. The award-winning works are in fact their final year projects. Another alumnus won the Jury Award which is the biggest prize. The award-winning films were showcased on 21 September 2019 at The Metroplex, Kowloon Bay.

The winner list is as follows:

Jury Award

  • "A Thousand Sails", directed by TSANG Hing Weng Eric (2012 graduate)

Honorary Mention

  • "Ephwaipi", directed by NG Candice Cheuk Yan (2019 graduate) and YEUNG Sik Yung (2019 graduate)

  • "The Wandering Spot", directed by CHENG Tsang Fai (2019 graduate)

Mr. Tsang Hing Weng Eric was awarded the biggest prize, the Jury Award, in the Sundance Film Festival.
