8 June, 2026

We are delighted to congratulate Professor Macau Mak, Assistant Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, on receiving the Second-Place Faculty Paper Award from the Mass Communication and Society Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).

His award-winning paper, “Greater polarization, less expression? Examining the relationship between perceived polarization and political expression in China and the United States,” offers important insights into how perceived political polarization shapes individuals’ willingness to express their political views across different national contexts.

Professor Mak’s research focuses on political communication, media effects, platform features and affordances, multiplatform social media use, and journalism.

Warmest congratulations to Professor Mak on this outstanding achievement!
