Taiwan VR Study Tour 2026
From May 20 to 29, 2026, 15 undergraduate students travel to Taipei and Kaohsiung for a study tour. The 3-credit bearing course included a series of professional activities such as site visits, virtual reality (VR) experiences, director talks, and 360-degree video production. During the journey, students visited key cultural and creative industry venues, including Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, the Taipei Music Center Funique Studio, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Pier-2 Art Center, Vision Get Wild, and VR Film Lab. They also had valuable opportunities to engage in in-depth exchanges with local producers and award-winning directors, broadening their professional perspectives.
Throughout the intensive ten-day itinerary, students gained insights into the latest developments in creative media and new media through diverse observations, hands-on experiences, and interactions with various directors. In addition, they worked in groups to create original 360 short films as part of the course, experiencing the full media production process, from conceptualization and filming to post-production, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the associated technologies. Participants reflected that the exchange not only deepened their understanding of new media creation, but also encouraged them to rethink narrative approaches in media production, making the experience highly rewarding.
