U-Beat Seoul Study Tour 2026

Twenty undergraduate students from U-Beat visited Seoul, Korea from 18 to 22 May, 2026 to join a series of lectures and visits. During this journey, students visited the MBC Studio, National Museum of Korean Democracy and the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) which divides the Korean Peninsula. More importantly, students engaged with TV producers of MBC programme, NGOs which concerned K-pop labor issues, and a defector who escaped from North Korea.

At the end of this tour, students gained a deeper understanding of recent development of Korean society and media, as well as the social issues behind the spotlight of K-pop. Students also learned to study Korean history and current affairs from different perspectives.
