Varsity’s Reporting Trip to Tokyo 2025

Undergraduate Activities
Date JUNE 10 - JUNE 15 2025

A six-day visit to Tokyo, the organiser offers 12 Varsity students an opportunity to participate in a series of activities centered around the theme of “War and Peace.”

Students have joint lessons with students from the University of Tokyo, discussions with journalists from various media outlets, visits to museums, and workshops conducted by Taiwanese scholars.

A highlight of the trip is the meet-up session with Terumi Tanaka, an atomic bomb survivor and Secretary General of Nihon Hidankyo, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024.

Through these experiences, students have a deeper understanding of World War II and reflect on the impact of the war in present days and the significance of peace.

No more blades, no more fire, Varsity students wish to convey a handwritten message from the Nobel Peace Prize Winner, “Let us construct a peaceful world free from nuclear weapons and war!”
