Hidden Track

What do we mean by VOGUE?

VOGUE refers to a state of prevalence among a majority of people at a particular time and space. Yet, trends are momentary. Questions abound when it comes to ‘vogue’. Who can be in vogue? How long will it last? Does the popularity of superstars stem from the fact that their music suits the taste of majority? But how do they develop their taste in the first place? If taste needs to be cultivated, what will happen if music is becoming more like a commodity that sticks to formulae and standards? Is there any chance for other styles of music to be in vogue?

In this exhibition, two generations of Indie musicians in Hong Kong share their vision and passion about music. Despite the noticeable differences in age and in music styles, Rebecca Pan and her young friends are tied with a great love and understanding of good music, and their home HONG KONG.
