Undergraduate Study Trip to Beijing for “The 23rd Beijing University Students Film Festival”

Twenty-one selected students from School of Journalism and Communication led by Professor Anthony Y.H. Fung, Professor Donna Chu, Professor Eric Poon, Dr. Carol Chow and Mr. Kwong Kai Tung of the School visited Beijing from May 5 to May 11, 2016. The study tour was sponsored by the Hong Kong Airlines.

In the trip, students participated in the 23th University Student Film Festival in Beijing with a number of activities, including the screening of nominated films, meet-the-audience sessions, prize presentation and the closing ceremony. Three pieces of our students’ work, titled “Seven Sins”, “Three Three Two Two” and “Seeing Uncertain”, were nominated for the Inter-university Film Competition this year.

Students were engaged with leading practitioners and had an in-depth discussion about the development and challenges faced by the new media industries of Mainland China through company visit to LETV, an animation production house and BASE-FX visual effects company.
