Creative Media Industries Development Study Tour to Beijing

Led by Prof. Anthony Fung, Prof. Eric Poon and Prof. Donna Chu, a group of 17 students went to Beijing study tour organised by Creative Media Laboratory Practicum during 18-31 May 2017.

Beijing Normal University, the local partner welcomed the group and arranged a five-day intensive VR training workshop and several exchange sessions during their stay in Beijing. Students had the first-hand experience of VR filming and post-editing. Moreover, teachers and students from Beijing Normal University shared the development of filming and creative media industry in Mainland China, and invited our students to join them to screen this year’s awarded pictures of Beijing College Student Film Festival.

The School also arranged some visits such as 798 Art Zone, China Central Academy of Fine Arts, China National Film Museum, Tencent, Local Music Live House, etc. for students to learn the latest development in cultural and creative media industry from local professionals.

The study tour was wrapped up with a Zongzi party on the Dragon Boat Festival day, just before they came back to Hong Kong. Teachers and students made Zongzi together and enjoy the traditional cooking experience with locals.
