Postgraduate Study Tour to Tokyo 2024

Prof. Francis Lee and Prof. Mike Wong led a group of 12 taught postgraduate students to Tokyo for a study tour from 29 April to 4 May 2024. We regularly organize overseas exchange tours every year, hoping to take this opportunity to allow students to visit companies in person.

This is the first year for the School to arrange a study tour to Tokyo. Students were invited to visit Waseda University. They joined a lecture on Japanese media industry given by Prof. Tetsuro Kobayashi from the Faculty of Political Science and Economics. In the following days, students visited Bloomberg L.P., Nikkei Asia, FabCafe Tokyo, and RealCRO, communicating with media workers from various fields. From traditional media to public relations companies, everyone who participated in the tour had a broader understanding of the media industry in Japan.

In addition, students visited different museums such as teamLab Borderless and appreciated advanced technologies including holographic projections, broadening their horizons and experiencing Japanese culture. Although the time was short, everyone made precious memories and established a deep friendship during the journey.
