Our undergraduate students continued to win prizes in the Campus News Awards this year. All of them were reporters and editors of our practicum magazines, namely, Varsity and U-Beat. Varsity won five prizes while U-Beat received two. The awards included “Best in Arts and Culture News Reporting,” “Best in News Video Reporting,” “Best in Feature Writing,” “Best in Features Video Reporting” and so on. They were awarded a cash prize of $9,500 in total.
The awards have been launched by China Daily Hong Kong since 2012. It is a campus journalism competition with contestants from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Mainland China. This year, 90 institutions submitted nearly a thousand entries, with over 3,000 participants.
