Student works of U-Beat and Varsity won four prizes in the 21st Human Rights Press Awards as follows:

3. Chinese University Text – Winner
“Transgender Toilets Nowhere to be Found”( 「跨性別 難得一廁」) – By CHEUNG Mei Ping, CHAN Wing Sze Rachel and LAM Ka Yee – U-Beat
4. Chinese University Text – Merit
“Imperfect beauty”( 「缺陷美 身體雖殘美麗有法」) – By SHUM Man Yi and POON Jo Yee – U-Beat
The awards are jointly organized by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Hong Kong, Amnesty International Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Journalists Association. They were the first such honours created in Asia and are the region’s top awards for human rights-related reporting.
