Distinguished Alumni Won Three Awards in the Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Short Film Competition

Four alumni won three prizes in the “Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Short Film Competition”. Three of them are fresh graduates of our Journalism and Communication undergraduate programme. The award-winning works are in fact their final year projects. Another alumnus won the Jury Award which is the biggest prize. The award-winning films were showcased on 21 September 2019 at The Metroplex, Kowloon Bay.

The winner list is as follows:

Jury Award

    • “A Thousand Sails”, directed by TSANG Hing Weng Eric (2012 graduate)

Honorary Mention

    • “Ephwaipi”, directed by NG Candice Cheuk Yan (2019 graduate) and YEUNG Sik Yung (2019 graduate)
    • “The Wandering Spot”, directed by CHENG Tsang Fai (2019 graduate)

Congratulations to the awardees!

Mr. Tsang Hing Weng Eric was awarded the biggest prize, the Jury Award, in the Sundance Film Festival.

The final year project of Ng Candice Cheuk Yan and Yeung Sik Yung was selected for the award.
