Floating City 20 -Creative Media Laboratory Student Exhibition
Xi Xi’s “the Chronicles From The Floating City” used 13 paintings to depict Floating City 20 years ago.
20 years later, a group of 20-year-olds illustrate the city they saw with four pieces of work.
This exhibition is curated by students from the CM Lab (Creative Media Laboratory) at the School of Journalism and Communication, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It displays four original sound works created in the practicum course, COMM2300 Sound and Creative Media, in which they learned to produce sound works from scratch, composing, to performing.
The theme of the exhibition took inspiration from renowned writer Xi Xi’s “the Chronicles From The Floating City” and follows the continuation of the story of the Floating City 20 years later. The exhibition is displayed along the Creative Corridor to formulate a complete journey through the city. It discusses what happened to the city and invites participants to regain their hope with our city.
