Recording and Responding to the Umbrella Movement in Words and Images

How to record and respond to the seventy-nine days Umbrella Movement is a great challenge to journalists and documentary filmmakers.

Paul Leung, initiator of the Social Record Channel (SocRec), stayed in different occupied areas to broadcast live videos during the movement. Recording from the perspective of pedestrians, Leung has served the community by providing uncensored videos of what is really happening in the field. Allan Au, a veteran journalist, responded to the movement by uploading a piece of article almost every day during the period. His logical and penetrating analysis has served to refute fallacies and set straight the record of the time.

Both of them will share their stories in the coming Monday.COME.
