“Seeing through Their Lenses”

As mini-films are getting more and more popular, being a director does not sound too difficult.

But reality is in the details. Two students from the jcSchool first started directing in aspiration of gaining recognition. With time, they soon discovered the boundless world of light and sound which allowed them to express their feelings and speak their mind.

Eric Tsang began shooting since his freshman year. He won the prizes of the Best Director, Best Script, Best Visuals and Overall Second Runner-up in the M21 Chinese Youth Film Contest with his short movie Joy in 2013. In the same year, he was nominated for Fresh Wave competition and his work You and Me tells the story of a secondary school student Yang Ming and an exchange student at CUHK. Kiki Wong shot her first documentary Is Hong Kong a good place for backpackers? and did not stop at that. She and Eric Tsang were awarded Best Director and Best Cinematography respectively at the Golden Sugarcane Film Festival with her short film Room 12.
