The “Democratic Repatriation” and the way out for “One Country, Two Systems”

Has the “democratic repatriation to China” come to an end? Recently, many commentators claimed the death of this democratic repatriation without any specific arguments. These comments, in fact, were more about venting the negative emotions, rather than reviewing the real situation of Hong Kong. Moreover, it reflected not only their ignorance of the circumstances and problems in the early 1980s but also their shortsightedness. While Prof. Lui Tai Lok will talk about the afore-mentioned themes, it will be up to the Monday.COME participants and the speaker to relate them to the “umbrella movement” during discussion.
