Postgraduate Study Tour to United Kingdom & Ireland 2018

This summer, led by Prof. Mike Wong and Prof. Anthony Fung, 24 students from different postgraduate programmes of the School of Journalism and Communication had a remarkable study tour to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

During the 14-day trip, students enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery in Northern Ireland and visited a lot of historical museums, cultural buildings as well as street art in London. This tour was more than a joyful sightseeing trip. It provided a precious opportunity for students to learn from professionals in different fields. They visited many famous media companies, such as Facebook, The Telegraph, Airbnb, etc. During the visits, students expressed their opinions and conducted in-depth conversations with senior media experts on the current development of media industry and many social phenomena.

The study tour had greatly benefited these graduating postgraduate students. It was an unforgettable and fruitful experience for them in terms of job hunting and their future careers. “I have made many friends in this tour and gained new insights into my future life. This is definitely one of the best trips I have ever participated in.” said a student from the Advertising Programme.
