Study Tour to United Kingdom
During summer, a thirteen-day study tour to the United Kingdom was organized by the School of Journalism and Communication, led by Prof. David Wong and Prof. Mike Wong, who have wide experiences in journalism and advertising respectively. A total of 25 postgraduate students learnt about different cultures and tasted happiness during the trip from May 4 to May 16, 2015.
In United Kingdom, students visited BBC Broadcasting House – the world’s oldest national broadcasting organization, Thomson Reuters – a major multinational mass media and information firm, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford and so on. They also attended several seminars with senior reporters and media professionals, and had in-depth discussions about the current hot spots around the world. In addition, they broadened their horizon and experienced English culture by visiting museums and various scenic spots.
One student from M.A. in Global Communication said “During the journey, we can communicate with local people and rethink our culture from an outsider perspective. Travelling enables us to apply theories to practice, which is one of the most important things to us.”
