Undergraduate Study Tour to Beijing 2018

It was the third year for the School and Beijing Normal University (BNU) to co-organise the study tour to Beijing. This year, 24 undergraduate students from different practicums participated in the two-week study tour led by Prof. Anthony Fung, Prof. Eric Poon and Mr. Patrick Kwok. The study tour was funded by Commission on Youth and Home Affairs Bureau.

The delegation arrived at Beijing on Monday, 14 May 2018 and was warmly welcomed by teachers and students from BNU who joined the following five-day intensive training on game and design provided by Pixseed alongside. Thanks to local students’ participation, our students had the chance to experience the traditional and modern Beijing in a different way.

Students were impressed by the rapid development of creative media industry in China after visiting companies like Perfect World (a well renowned online game developer), Visual China (an online visual creative platform), etc. In addition to the visits, they got opportunities to talk to industry pioneers and professionals such as Chan Koonchung (陳冠中), the founder of many associations including Hong Kong Film Directors Association and City Magazine.

Study tours have been serving as one of the most important parts of experiential learning in recent years and the School will keep providing such opportunities for students to broaden their horizons and engage in the cutting edge of industry development.
