Training Trip to Prague & Krakow 2023

Twenty selected students from the School of Journalism and Communication’s undergraduate programme and taught postgraduate programmes visited Prague and Krakow from 9 to 21 December 2023. In this trip, students were engaged with leaders in the media and communication industries as well as scholars through a series of media workshops, lectures and local visits. Students visited Czech Radio, Seznam.cz, UkrArtHub, Terezin Concentration camp, as well as the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps. Additionally, teachers and students had fruitful engagements with locals, like attending a workshop with Polish university students, meeting Ukrainians who are now currently living in Poland, meeting journalists who have covered the Ukraine conflict, and attending sharing sessions by volunteers who have helped refugees from Ukraine. Students have in-depth understanding of the post WWII Europe, how the Cold War impact current social events, and the sufferings brought by regional conflict to human lives and communities.
