Our undergraduate students continued to win prizes in the Campus News Awards this year. All of them were reporters and editors of our practicum magazines, namely, Varsity and U- Beat. Varsity was the big winner, which won a total of 7 prizes including “Best in News Reporting”, “Best in Arts and Culture News Reporting”, “Best in Business News Reporting” and “Best in News Video Reporting”. U-Beat got 5 awards which include “Best in News Writing”, “Best in News Reporting” and “Best in Tech News Reporting”. The value of prizes amounted to HK$11,500.
The awards have been launched by China Daily Hong Kong since 2012. It is a campus journalism competition with contestants from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Mainland China.
