“The Apple Daily Culture ─ a first-hand experience”

When it comes to Apple Daily, the people in Hong Kong are divided in their evaluations. Some think that Apple Daily is a democratic newspaper that stands up against governing authorities and speaks for the people. Others think that it is depraved, exaggerates and even falsifies. But there is one thing that is certain: Apple Daily has played a significant role in changing the press and media culture in Hong Kong. It has exposed a good number of scandals and forced officials and legislators out to step down.

Fung Wai Kong, a graduate from the CUHK School of Journalism and Communication in the 80’s, has worked in various local media, serving as an editorial writer of Apple Daily for 16 years until he left his position recently. Monday.COME is delighted to have him to come to talk to us on September 16 about his work and observations in Apple Daily.
