Consultation Sessions in Three Cities for HK PhD Fellowship Scheme and PhD in Communication (Registration deadline: 5 Oct) 


The 2013-2014 research programmes of the School of Journalism and Communication are now open for application. The deadline for the first round of admission is 1 December 2012. Applicants interested in the Ph.D. programme must apply through the Hong Kong Research Grants Council’s Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS:http://www.com.cuhk.edu.hk/default.aspx?cmd=jfile/jfiledetails&ind=283) in this round. The PhD Fellowship Scheme, which aims at attracting outstanding students throughout the world to pursue their PhD degree in Hong Kong, offers very generous financial support for successful applicants. The deadline for the second round of admission is 31 January 2013, which is mainly for MPhil applicants. PhD applications will be considered in this round depending on the availability of vacancies. 

The School will hold consultation sessions with prospective applicants in Beijing, Hangzhou and Guangzhou in mid- to late October 2012. Interested applicants please send a 1-page resume including the city you would like to go to Ms. Heidi Choi at heidichoi@cuhk.edu.hkby 5 October 2012 (Friday). Registered participants in the consultation sessions will be notified of further details including the venues, dates and time of the consultation sessions around one week after the registration deadline.
